Tzu Chi University of Science and Technology offers a Bachelor of Science in Health Administration. The Bachelor’s Degree Program includes eight semesters of coursework on the Tzu Chi campus.

The program offers both academic education and clinical practice. They are carefully designed for developing professional competence. Students are required to take a prescribed combination of basic-and advanced-level courses in the applied and behavioral sciences integrated to their fields. They are free to choose from a variety of other courses in order to meet degree requirements. The elective courses include profession-related courses (e.g., Managerial Accounting, Medical Ethics, Health Care Strategic Management, Medical Care Payment System, Statistical Application and Data Analysis), Buddhist studies (e.g., Flower Arranging, Tea Ceremony, Zen Meditation, and Sign Language), Fine Arts (e.g., Art Appreciation, Music Appreciation, Drama, and Dance), local minority languages (Ami, Atayal, Fukien, and Hakka), and Liberal Arts (e.g., Psychology, Human Development, Sociology, Marriage and Family Studies, and the Constitution of the R.O.C.).

Students in the Bachelors Degree program are likely to find many career paths in the field of health care administration. Bachelors Degree students usually enter undergraduate study with little experience in the health care field. Most of them graduate from senior high school in nursing and commerce, and are often unfamiliar with the many different career paths and initial opportunities available to health care administrators.
